Tracking Teens' Location Study
Many parents in the U.S. use smartphone applications to track where their teenagers are (“location tracking apps”). These apps (e.g. Life360) have become very popular in the past 5-10 years, but little research has been done on them.
The purpose of this study is to pilot a new survey we have created to measure parent location tracking app use, in addition to a screenshot-based procedure for capturing the amount of time spent on location tracking apps.
Are you eligible?
You can participate in this study if:
You are a parent of a teen in 6th through 12th grade
You use a smartphone location tracking app (e.g. Life360) to track your teen’s location
What do YOU do?
Meet with us for a ~45 minute initial session on Zoom
Independently complete 2 online surveys 2-4 weeks after the first session
Attend a ~45 minute focus group session online, over Zoom teleconference.
